Instructor's Role

 

The instructor needs to use the running record to guide his/her:

evaluation of the difficulty of the text.
grouping of children.
monitoring of a child's progress.
observation of problems that the child is experiencing  (Clay, 1979).

 

Evaluation of the running record helps the instructor provide explicit instruction
